Family Vacation - Disneyland and more! April 15th - April 25th

"Buckle Up! - this is going to be a LONG RIDE!"
1st Stop!  A visit in St. George with many of my cousins and my wonderful Grandparents - George and Geneva Belt!  This was Levi's 1st introduction to his Great Grandparents!
The beautiful canyon in between St. George and Las Vegas...my pictures don't do it justice!
1st morning before we head to the Park!
Emily was BEYOND excited (as noted in the expression!)
Family Photo!
Levi is sleeping already!
Getting used to waiting in line was a terrible experience! - for Andrew especially.
But it all paid off in the end!
Even Levi could sense the excitement!
Mickey invited us into his living room...
One of my FAVORITE pics!
"High School Musical 3" at Adventure Park!
Emily was chosen to help in the show!
Levi LOVED the rides!  Seriously...never cried a peep!
Disney's Pixar Parade (Awesome!)
Jane and Noop at the Fireworks!
Typical end to a big day in the park! The easiest bedtime we ever had!
"Finding Nemo" Submarine
Killing Emperor Zurg with Buzz Lightyear
Priceless Picture!
They will not be getting Drivers Licenses anytime soon!
A typical "I don't want to wait in another line" or "I want to do it again" tantrum!
Space Mountain!
Andrew and Levi's FAVORITE RIDE!
"The Adventures of Tigger and Pooh!"
And even the ducks were entertaining enough!
Love the Parades!
Safari Boats
We loved chasing down the characters to take pictures!
The Adventure Park Pier
Mickey's Ferris Wheel
Carousel!
Jessie! (Emily's Favorite!)
Woody! (Andrew's 2nd Favorite! He comes in pretty close after "Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!")
Some Rapid Ride!  Brian likes to tell this story... He and Emily got pretty wet and they were very prepared with their ponchos and all, but the very nicely dressed French people who were trying to video the ride were sorely disappointed when they realized that their leather boots and coats and cameras were getting soaked!
Pilot Goofy!
the Character Exchange was even fun to watch!
Pilot Minnie!
At times we had to "think on our feet" to keep the kids from self-destructing in a long line!  This line was well worth the wait for "Soarin' over California!" Ride!  Notice the Tears to the Smiles!  People were looking at me like I was a loon taking so many pictures in line!
The "Toy Soldiers" from "Toy Story 3" were SO COOL!  Really!  Great costuming!

Inside "Playhouse Disney!" we got to watch all of their favorite little Disney cartoons come to life!
"Mickey Mouse Club House"
"Handy Manny"
"Little Einsteins"
&
"My Friends Tigger and Pooh"
Emily was chosen to help!
Levi was THRILLED!
This is a Daddy Look-a-Like Contest Picture! What do you think?
One of our all-time favorites "Monsters Inc."
Roz was hysterical!
Disneyland had several very entertaining and fun 3-D shows.  Nothing like what we see in the theaters now...WAY COOLER!
"Bugs Land" was fun in Adventure Park and this was a favorite ride of ours!  We just love to listen to the caterpillar's funny accent!
Disneyland parade now...Emily was chosen yet again!  (She's not shy when it comes to being picked for the stage!)
And Andrew finally got chosen for something!  To play the little drum on the sideline during the parade!
a Precious Moment!
a Precious Baby!
Andrew still talks about Thunder Mountain to this day!  At 1st is was a hate relationship, then it was a love-hate relationship and by the end it was a LOVE LOVE relationship.  We probably rode this roller coaster more than any of the others.
Watch Out!  The two cutest sherriff's are in town!
Saying Goodbye to a park full of wonderful memories and smiles on our last day there!
As if they don't have enough...Andrew was shocked to learn that Disneyland was hiding dinosaurs the whole time and we didn't even see them until the last day!
O, so helpful Andrew!
Gotta love the hat!
Splash Mountain! - Emily loved it and Andrew could do without!
On the last night we were trying to squeeze in as many "do-overs" as we could and we definitely had to do "It's a Small World" again - it was Levi's favorite by far!
A parting gift - they wanted to see the fireworks again (not like we hadn't already seen them a few times), but we bought those instead and told them there were fireworks around their necks!
Goodbye Disneyland!  We'll miss you and we'll definitely be back!
A bonus of the trip was re-uniting with my best friend from childhood and my other mommy from childhood!  So wonderful to know that some friendships and love just never ends!
We stopped back by St.George and reported in with Grandma and Grandpa about our vacation!  Love them!
A picture to keep forever!

Knowing what we know now about how our life would be changed, we see how much of a blessing our family trip to Disneyland was!  It was really the greatest trip and we shared so many smiles with our kids and SO MUCH FUN!  These are a some pictures of our amazing time together, a great memory to hold on to while I recover and our family continues to find our new "normal!"

Wow Kara! What a great post. With everything that happened after that trip, I had forgotten you had even gone!

I am glad you have those memories. I am jealous you went. I wish we could do that....Some day we will!

And how does one hide dinosaurs in Disneyland!????
